Charlotte has been called one of the 10 best cities for urban forests. Trees curtail energy costs, create better air and water quality, keep soil from eroding, reduce incidents of violence and property crime, and they just plain look good all of which leads to increases in property value. It's important that we maintain the look and heath of our "urban forest" here in Monteith Park.
Our "forest" contains a total of about 1600 trees. Of these, about 600 are in the common area maintained by the HOA, and about 1000 are on homeowner property growing between the sidewalk and the street which are a homeowner responsibility.
The Monteith Park ARC Committee approves all street trees planted throughout the community.
If an existing street tree dies, the HOA will notify the homeowner of the need to replace the tree.
